DESIGN BY NATURE WITH INTENTION
This collection of images is centered on a single 4-meter piece of hand-dyed silk. Everything about this project is experimental, the color, dye technique and physical manipulation. It is an engaging display of what it means to work through process.
This project inspired a deeper look at the fabrics I create. I've begun selecting portions of larger pieces to annunciate the design as standalone fine art.

After many layers of dying subconscious images emerge, like daydreaming watching clouds. This series is created by rusting silk with found objects. I choose how to manipulate the fabric and where a line should be, but what emerges naturally cannot be rivaled. These pieces are delicate destroyed architectural and dirty.
TAGGING GRANDMA'S WALLPAPER

Children take crayons to walls. Graffiti artists make their mark where they may or may not be wanted. My inspiration for this project is centered on printing pattern over pattern with the end result being a juxtaposition of what should or shouldn’t be on the wall. I have taken a vintage wallpaper sample book and imposed new designs over the pages. Each motif is flocked. That’s right, fuzzy! I am working with images that either stand out or blend into the background. To either exemplify a motif, or scratch it out.
It is a funny, quirky, naughty project.
